Western Branch Metals, LC (WBM) is the nation's largest boat shaft distributor and manufacturer of the Aqualoy brand of stainless steel boat shafting and rudders. Western Branch is also a leading distributor of stainless steel and other marine related products to the marine and steel industries.

Founded in 1976, Western Branch serves large OEMs, custom boat builders, marine distributors and machine shops throughout the U.S. – we are known throughout the maritime industry for our technical support and overall boat shafting expertise.

Metallurgical laboratory facilities include macro and microscopes for the investigation of material characteristics and failure analysis.

Chemical laboratory facilities include Optical Emission spectroscopy for fast and accurate determination of chemical composition of metallic specimens.

Our Suffolk facility features a state-of-the-art laboratory and propeller shaft testing technology that provides fatigue testing, sea water corrosion fatigue testing, material and alloy evaluations, failure analysis, product development. We also support other metallurgical analysis and testing needs.

Products
In addition to Aqualoy propeller shafting and Aqualoy rudders, Western Branch distributes 17-4PH condition H1150 (analysis and mechanical properties) and XM-19 (hot rolled properties) round bar, 17-4PH HRAP squares, along with various marine related products including type 304 keystock, type 304 and 316 rub rail and leaded red brass propeller nuts. Utilizing state of the art technology, personal best craftsmanship and a company wide dedication to excellence, WBM ensures that all products are finished to exacting tolerances.

Locations 
WBM's three U.S. Warehouses (east, west and gulf coast) target customer needs by inventorying the appropriate diameters, lengths and grades of high quality boat shafting. In most cases, WBM can expedite delivery the same day the order is placed.  In addition, WBM retains a network of overseas export agents to serve clients around the world.
